Stamping Pam's

So Much News...

Hello stampers.  I do have so much to share.  First off...a new laptop so hopefully I can log on a bit more frequently and not have everything freeze up!!!  Yipee...now I just have to figure out the software since it's a bit different than our old.  Oh well...I won't give it back :)  What a good surprise from my hubby on our trip to town.  Now, the second surprise is I have purchased a new camera for myself as well.  Now, that also means new software which I'm having an even more difficult time trying to get sorted out...can you tell I'm not very computer savvy?  Anyhow, I think now that Christmas in July is over I'll have some time to play and get things figured out.

Speaking of Christmas in July...our cardmaking day was just so much fun and I believe everyone had a really relaxed time stamping away.  I will post a group photo of those that were able to attend on the day.  There were quite a few who couldn't come on the day , but ordered a kit, so I'll be planning a get together later in the year so everyone can get their projects stamped.  I still have a couple kits left if anyone would like to join us then (probably sometime in October).  Just let me know.

Today was a wonderful day with my afternoon stamp group.  Gotta love those girlies.  We sure had some chit chat and some laughs going on.  Zachie thinks they are the best and he loves "his girls"...probably their great goodies/treats they bring not to mention their love and attention!!!  Thanks for another fun day ladies.

Now, I promised that we would give away some blog candy...the winner chosen by the evening stamp group was Anita.  Thanks for those who shared a tip on organizing their stamping supplies.  Seems like the key is ORGANIZATION, thinking outside the box for storage solutions and labeling.  For sharing everyone will get a little thanks in the mail so watch for a small goodie to arrive soon.  Anita will get those items pictured PLUS for her mystery gift I'm giving her a retired hostess stamp set from last year.  Way to go.

All right stampers...I'm a bit tired this evening as I've been up since 2:30 so I could watch the Michael Jackson memorial (yes, I know ...another hidden secret).  I grew up with him and remember my babysitter bringing over the Jackson 5 record (GASP) to play.  How time flies (he he).  Needless to say it's been a loooonnnnggg day and tomorrow will be busier.  Hugs to all of you.

Did You Think I Forgot???

Hello stampers...did you think I forgot to post the blog candy for today?  Well, I didn't...I actually tried to upload the photo before I needed to leave for a workshop tonight but couldn't get it to work so it had to wait until I got home...Hmmm...if I get it done before midnight does it still count :)

Today was filled with playing tractor and trying to clean up my stamping reorganization in the stamp room (they say it always looks worse before it looks better...I"m not sure I can get that far).  Mr Zach walked in today and informed me, while pointing, Big Mess Mummy.  Yep, out of the mouths of babes. It doesn't matter that Mr. Zach helped make the mess as he got ahold of a spool of ribbon and traipsed that all over.  Oh well...basically I told myself I must go through and weed out my stamp sets so I have room on the shelves.  Needless to say I have a "can go" pile, a "maybe" pile and an "absolutely must stay" pile and a pile of weeded out scraps.  Not to mention tons of "stuff" just waiting for the Christmas class event coming.  I think I need more spaceeeeeeeeeeeeeee. 

Now, I did say I was cleaning so here are a couple items that I thought would make GREAT blog candy.  I know I would love to get them myself.  What's in the blog candy you might be asking...well, an adhesive eraser, a package of retired ribbon and a package of twine.  Not pictured will be a little mystery prize...it's a mystery 'cause I'm not sure what it will be yet...he he.

Since I'm trying to clean out my stamping stash, and make myself more organized, I am looking for people to share their favourite organizing "tip".  Leave a comment on this days page.  I will leave the contest open until Monday, 29th of June, at noon.   I have stamp club that evening and someone's name will be drawn out of the bowl that night.  I'll post on here the winner and what the mystery pize will be.

Inspired..."by nature"...

Hello stampers.  Thank you for your kind e-mails, chats at workshops, and a comment on here, asking to please post something...anything :) as you miss checking in to see what's been going on.  Well, it seems like cropping seems to make my stamping take a back burner (thankfully, that is almost over for another year) as I can't work in my stamp room with Mr. Zachie checking everything out. 

Now, what have I been up to?  HMMM...well, the Christmas card class is less than 2 weeks away so I've been spending time getting ready for that exciting day.  Plus, just regular housework (YUCK) and cooking and running after Zach.  I've made/played with playdough, finger paint, bread dough and  cookie dough, just to name a few, as I "bonded" with my son during the rainy days, and all those days that I have been a "single mom" while Denis was busy.  Not complaining :) but it keeps a person busy and it does make you appreciate your spouse just a bit more.  However, ...if I have to build another duplo tractor I think I'll lose it and someone will need to check me into the nearest "funny farm".  Just kidding.   

Mr. Zach and I had his appointment today for his foot x-ray.  Thankfully NO broken bones just a big bruise.  Poor little guy.  Who would guess a toy block could be so dangerous :)

Now, tonight I actually had some time to stamp as Denis came in finished with all he can do now.  So, I got a few cards stamped including this one which is for a funeral tomorrow for one of Denis' old friends (they met in their 20's so it's been awhile).  Anyhow, I kept it very simple  but I quite like it using the blue tones.  Not to mention I LOVE, LOVE the silhouette stamps this year...right up my alley :)

A Challenge Day...

Hello stampers.  I hope you have had a fulfilling week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  I know I will be happy when the sickness is out of this house and everyone can relax and not be crabby, or up in the middle of the night!!!

I promised you a couple more photos from our retreat.  So, here they are... Remember I said that I only got three cards done (blush) on the retreat...well, this is one of them :)  I actually really like it and have decided that I can't part with it...do you ever do that?  Make a card, really like it and then can't give it away.   Funny how that goes...it's almost like these little masterpieces are your children and you've just "got" to hang on to them.  I know, I'm a little strange.

Now, the second card was also one that we did at the retreat.  This was a technique called Watercolour Wash.  The photo just does not do this card justice.  I can't believe how gorgeous, and simple, is this technique.  Would you like to know how we did?

You will need watercolour paper, aqua painter, reinkers (2-3 colours which naturally blend together), two plastic lids from old containers (1 to use as a palette and the other to dip your watercolour paper into); and lots of paper towels. 

Prepare everything prior to beginning your project. This means...fill your aquapainter, place 1 or 2 drops of each reinker colour on your plastic lid ensuring that you have enough room to pick up one colour without "swiping" into the next; and place a layer of paper towels on your workspace.

Dip your watercolour paper into the water, pull out and lay on paper towels.  Take your aquapainter and dip into the first reinker colour (begin with the lightest colour first).  Swipe across your paper, repeat with additional colours.  Ensure they all blend together.  Let dry - this will take awhile or you may speed up the process by using a heat tool.  Stamp images in Black Staz On ink and complete your card.  EASY PEESY!!!

Now that you know how to do I'd like to challenge each of you to try your hand at watercolour wash.  You can e-mail me a copy of your card and I will post on here.  I'd love to see what you all come up with!!

More Retreat Photos

Hello stampers.  Didn't post yesterday as Mr Zach work up about 3:00 am with a raging fever.  He is so sick and just wants to be rocked.  Needless to say, yesterday was either spent rocking him, or when he fell asleep, I was busy trying to do a couple housework things. 

Now, I promised some more retreat photos.  I will try and post some photos either later tonight, or tomorrow, of some close-ups of the projects we did while at retreat.

Sniff, sniff...hellwo

Hello stampers.  I am afraid I got off track with blogging once again with a nasty "bug" that hit last week.  Geesh, I sure hope none of you get it, absolutely knocks you off your feet.  I've been crawling into bed each night as soon as Zach drifts off.  Hopefully I'm on the mend now with just the sniffles/head cold bit.  Wish my mom was here to make chicken soup!!

Well, this week I am FINALLY going to share some photos of our Stamping Retreat which was held at the end of March.  I know, I am so terrible to wait so long but the wait will be worth it :)

Now, speaking of retreat, oh my goodness...we had so much fun and I think many people took home a few cards that got completed over the weekend...okay, I confess...I only completed 3 !!!   But I do know some girls had 20 or so completed which was GREAT...not to mention all the little projects we did throughout the weekend as everyone learned new techniques.  A special thanks goes to Debbie for stopping in on Sunday to take our photo so not one of us had to be excluded. 

This first photo is of all of us who attended over the weekend.  Thank you to everyone who got to come!!!!  It was great to see so much talent in one room...you girls ROCK!!!  I was just blown away by the cards/projects you all designed....hmmm, maybe I was influenced by the lack of sleep OR the lack of delicious goodies to eat (just kidding....everyone brought so many yummy goodies that I don't think one was touched on Sunday we were so FULL).  We did have some fruit...hmmm...thought I had a photo of the fruit bowl (he he)!!

Our location was absolutely gorgeous and there was nothing like looking out the window in the morning to see the kangaroos hanging out on the end of the porch.  Yep...we arose in the morning to do an early bird "stamping in your jammies" class.  Great fun and so relaxing as people rolled into the room rubbing the sleep out of their eyes....well, those that were in the other house were a bit more awake as they had to traipse across the driveway in the cold.  Sorry girls :) 

Now, tomorrow I'll share some more retreat photos and a batch of cards that are absolutely GORGEOUS created by ...you guessed it...all the talented retreat stampers.

A Rosie Day...

Thanks Suzi and Anita for the sweet comments about hostess night.  It is always a great time to see everyone and it's fun to see your creations.  Plus it reminds me how talented you stampers are and that I'll have to do some planning so I'm always "one step ahead" (he he).

Now on to planning the next big event...Christmas in July and Customer Appreciation!  Jeepers...you stampers sure keep me busy (smile) but I love it and I love all of you.  Especially when you show me something you personally have handcrafted.

Now, I have promised you a photo of the Build-a-Brad bracelet and directions on how to make the little bag that was given to all those attending Hostess Appreciation. 

First, the bag....absolutely the cutest, most simple bag EVER!!!  I promise. 

Supplies Used:

Designer Paper Cut 6 x 12" (I know, I'm an Imperial girl...just can't do those metrics)

Score on the long side (which is 12" long) at  4", 5 1/2", 91/2", and 11"

Score on one of the short sides (which is 6" long) at 1 1/2".  This will become the box bottom.  Take your paper snips and cut up each score mark on the short side to the 1 1/2" mark.  This will allow your box ends to fold (clear as mud???).  You will make 5 cuts.

Apply adhesive to the last scored mark on the box and close.  I like to use sticky strip to ensure a good "hold".

Apply adhesive on one of the largest flaps on the bottom and fold to form the box bottom.

Use a 1 3/8" circle punch to make holes in top.  To embellish I used the stamp set Party Hearty and just popped up the various layers using dimensionals.  Very easy and fast! 

Now, I promised a photo of the Build-a-Brad bracelet.  I made these for convention and gave one to my convention roomie (Pam) as a gift.  Not sure what build-a-brads are?  Well, they are brads that you can design yourself using any stamp or designer paper that you like.  For this one I used one of my all time favourite DSP's, Bella Rose...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.  YUMMO! I used the 1/2" circle punch and simply looked for the design I liked on the paper; punched; attached a bit of SNAIL to the back and placed on the metal portion of the BAB.  Then the clear bits on top are sticky so you simply peel off the backing and place over the top.  That easy!!!   Thanks to Kim and Jade for helping me pick out the chain and the closure for the bracelets.  I am a stamper and am TOTALLY challenged when it comes to anything else :)  What do you all think of this little project?

Oh What a Night...

Hello stampers.  What a FUN filled evening we had last night at the annual Hostess Appreciation event.  There were some great laughs and fun times as the evening progressed (cat stories and handbags were the best).  Unfortunately, I did not think to recharge my camera battery and so only have a couple photos to share today.  However, Lorraine loaned me her camera so I'll have some amazing purse photos to share at the end of next week.  The bags entered into the contest were absolute works of art!!  I'm glad I wasn't one of the judges trying to decide the top 3!!

Here is a photo of the goody bag that each person received at their place setting.  I will share some directions on how to make it next week.  Cute and oh so simple!!!

To begin the evening we had a couple quick activities with the first being a "feely" contest...I know, sounds funny but I'm not sure what else to call it.  This is Pam L., one of my team members, holding the bag as Lorraine rummages through and feels what might be inside.  The best item...the sandwich!!!  Hugs to Pam for thinking up the game to go along with our theme.

These girls are excitedly waiting for the beginning of the purse scavenger hunt.

Flowers Anyone?

Hello stampers.  Today I'm showing the flowers that my convention roomie, Pam, put on my bed.  Are they just the cutest or what?  I'm not the best photo taker, as you all know, so just imagine these 3-D, just adorable!!!

I've been B-U-S-Y preparing for hostess appreciation so can't show anything I've been stamping for that until after this weekend.  However, I do have a great project showing the new Build-a-Brads that I'll share with you tomorrow.  It is cute, cute, cute!!

Hello stampers!!!

Hello stampers.  Yes, I have been gone a VERY long time but I am thinking I'm back in action now.  Life was just a whirlwind for awhile and I think that attending the Stampin' Up convention this past weekend in Canberra was just what I needed to help get my mojo back.  Thanks to all of you who have continued to check in.

Now, speaking of Canberra...oh my goodness.  I was hugged and congratulated by Shelli Gardner, the CEO of Stampin' Up (the photo isn't that great so I apologize).  She is such a sweet person and so down to earth.  WOW is all I can say.  You can tell she is a total stamper at heart and definately cares about all of us demonstrators and people who use SU stamps.  Now...would you like to see more photos?

The next photo is Pam and I "duded" up to attend the awards dinner.  How fun it was to get dressed up but I was TERRIFIED to have to walk across the stage - needless to say I survived!

 

Okay, one last bragging photo and then I'll quit.  My name in "lights", just kidding.  However, it did look good on the screen :)  Not sure if it will ever happen again so I'm proud of the moment and hope you don't mind my sharing with all of you stampers.

Speaking of sharing with all of you.  THANK YOU to each and every one of you who either served as one of my workshop hostess' over the past year or just attended as a guest.  You are all so important to my business and I wouldn't have received any awards without your support.  Hugs to ALL of you!!!  In honour of you we will celebrate Hostess Appreciation Night this upcoming Friday, which will be GREAT fun.  PLUS, I will be hosting a Customer Appreciation Event later this winter as a thanks to each and every one of my customers.  Watch for more information in the upcoming months.

Retreat anyone?

Hello all, I'm not sure what happened to that little tag valentine card so I'm reposting the photo here.  Thank you to everyone who let me know that it wasn't working.

Now, there's lots of info to share today as I haven't posted in awhile.  So, make sure you read to the bottom of today's post.

 

Now, Sale-a-Bration has been a great time to see so many of my FAVOURITE stampers.  I have enjoyed getting out and about and not only seeing those I know but meeting many new stampers.  If you have not yet booked your workshop for Sale-a-Bration be sure to give me a call quick OR CLICK here to send me an e-mail as I will only schedule two more workshops in February and then the FREE stamps promotion will be over for another year.

Now, today has been a fun day as I had part of my stamping team at the farm for a stamp day.  Wow, did I learn a lot from Pam (not me...he he) but the "other" one.  She shared two great projects which I hope to show you one day down the road. 

Now, I have recently been in a Valentine's Day swap and this is one example, which I thought would be simple and quick; AND uses one of my all time fav sets, Priceless.  The demonstrator that did this card is Rebecca Scurr (not sure where she is from as it's not on the back of her card).  However, she did a nice job using the masking technique and first stamping the hearts in Priceless and then covering them up before adding the swirls.  Simple but effective.

Now, I know people have been asking about the retreat that I surveyed many of you on so long ago.  Let me tell you, it has been challenging to find a location, that isn't over the moon spendy and where we could stamp/scrap until the late hours.   Now, today we talked about hosting an AMAZING retreat which we won't be able to hold until later in the year due to other commitments.  However, for those of  you who have been patiently waiting I'm going to see if March 27-29 would work for just a small group of us.  If you would like more information Click Here and I will e-mail you all the particulars.  Okay dokey???

Hello Everyone

Hello stampers...just a small glitch but I'm back.  We have finally figured out, well, not we but those smarter than us who work with computers (he he), that our virus protection was messing up our computer.  UUUHHHGGG... oh well, I hope we're off on a better new year with this machine.

Well, for today I have a fun Valentine's project to share...I pretty much CASED this off Sharon Johnson but I just loved it and thought it would be so perfect to send back to the USA to my really good friend so I copied what  I could and changed what I had too :)

Now, if you notice the Old Olive scalloped rectangles, those are done using the Scallop Edge Punch.  I am "IN LOVE" with this punch.  Anyone else agree that has this little baby???  Now, of course I went to my fav site, SCS, and found a little tutorial on how to use the punch to make squares.  Since there is such a GREAT tutorial on there I'm not going to show you here, however If you would like to know how to do it just Click Here and it should take you to the resources page of SCS.

An Early Post Today...

Hello stampers.  I had a quick minute today to do some stamping so thought I might as well get posted for all of you.  I still stink at taking photos...oh well.  This card is a dazzler in real life, of course I touched areas with dazzling diamonds.  However, you can't really see much on the card in the photo.

I have used the new Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Botanical Blooms, on this card along with Warm Words and En Francais.  Cardstock was So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Groovy Guava and Very Vanilla.  The vanilla ribbon comes from the set Beachfront, which I have rubbed slightly with a sponge dauber and Groovy Guava ink.  A piece of the Silver Hodgepodge completes the front ( I punched out the words using the Designer Label Punch and have also used the Scalloped Edge punch on the top of the card.  Quite simple but is really pretty in real life.

Another "Lovely" Day...

Hello stampers.  What a beautiful day today, even though it was very cool this morning.  I am always amazed at how it can be SO cold in the morning and by afternoon it's HOT.  In Australia you never pack away your winter clothes in the summer because you might need them!!  Unlike back home in the states, I usually just kept a couple things handy for cold days but otherwise everything else was shoved to the back of the closet. 

Speaking of a "lovely" day...here's another love card for you all today.  For this card I have used the adorable set Big on Spring from the Summer Mini.  The words came out of the same set from the previous Valentine card, A Happy Heart.  Now, I didn't realize, and didn't think about it when I took the photo, that you wouldn't be able to see the scalloped part that sticks up at the top. (I took this photo earlier today outside but am just now getting it posted).  However, you can tell where the scallop is at...this little bit pokes up over the top of the card.  I've added some cut out hearts, glitter (of course) and some doodling around the edges for a bit more design.  Simple but cute.

Share #2  I love the felt flowers in this mini.  However, sometimes we hesitate to purchase an entire tin of something we have never used before as we're not sure we will like it.  I have had fun playing with these felt flowers and I'm sure once you've tried them you'll fall in love as well !!  There are 14 different flower shapes in three different colours (Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Old Olive).  You will get 1/3 of the tin which is approximately 43 flowers.  Cost of this share is $11.50 per share and it requires 3 particpants.

Oh so much news...

Hello stampers.  Sorry I did not post last night but didn't get home from a workshop until about 11:30.  I absolutely love the Horsham girls...we have such a blast and a great chit chat AND THEN...had to stop at the grocery store (bah humbug !!!) so it was a really late night by the time I arrived in the driveway.  However...I have TONS of info to share today. 

First...promised  you all a photo of the cake I made for Christmas dinner.  This was our Black Forest   Cake and it was YUMMO !!!  It did turn out...well, sort of (smile)  I had to make an extra cake as I used a pan that was bigger than it was supposed to be and then I couldn't cut it into three layers.  DUH...what was I thinking?  Oh well.  All's well that ends well !!!

 

The WINNER of the $75.00 basket of SU goodies goes to Joy Filbey from Jeparit.  Congrats Joy.  I'll be in contact to arrange delivery.  Thanks everyone who particpated in the Santa Christmas gift promotion.

Happy New Year !!

Hello stampers.  I'm back from a wondeful little New Year's trip away.  We went to Melbourne..I thought just for a couple days but my dear hubbie said "why don't we stay a little longer"...so we did !!  We had a wonderful time and just returned yesterday.  We totally played tourist!  We were able to go see the new penguins at the Aquarium.  They are absolutely ADORABLE and were as tall as Zach !  Zach loved them but HATED the rest ...I'm thinking it was too noisy for him (well, it was noisy as there were TONS of people). 

I'm thinking Zach's favourite thing we did was to ride Puffing Billy.  He so loves trains and actually Denis and I enjoyed it as well !!  Let's see...what else did I do???  Well, some shopping of course...and for all those purse-a-holics...I got a DELICIOUS deal at Myer for a beee-uuu-ttiful champage coloured handbag.  YUMMO !! 

Now, I promised so many things before New Year's so here's the latest scoop and a project for today.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Hello stampers.  Geez...it's really looking a lot like Christmas around our house.  I've got the presents wrapped and did the final grocery shopping today.  Then I just finished baking the chocolate cake portion of our Christmas dessert...a Black Forest Cake.  YUMMO.   Now, if you've never had one before let me tell you it is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S and  is pure heaven.  This lovely little cake is filled with cherries, whipped cream, and chocolate.  I will share a photo with you all after Christmas.  Well...that is if it turns out (he he).

Now, I promised you all a sneak peek at the new Sale-A-Bration catalogue and here she is...it really has been like Christmas when you get to see the new little goodies that are available!!!  You all will fall in love with these stamps...I know I have and will have fun over the next week playing with the new rubber !!!  Plus, I will have some fun samples to share.

So, for all of you who are traveling, may you have safe travels to your destinations.

Hello stampers.  I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend filled with stamping !  I know, difficult to do at this time of the year.  I'm right with ya :)  Now, I must confess...I am having Christmas here at the house and have had no stamp time for the past couple of days as I'm trying to get everything in order for the "big day". 

However, don't be disappointed 'cause there's no photos today...instead, here's some exciting news...we got an e-mail from SU today which said we can share our upcoming Sale-A-Bration with all of you.  SO...tomorrow I will post a photo of the cover...so you can drool (he he) AND then I will show  you a couple of samples that I have made.  OOOHHH...you stampers are gonna LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this years SAB goodies.  So don't forget to check back tomorrow evening for a sneak peek.

On the Last Day of Christmas...

Hello stampers.  This weekend has been so busy and hectic.  I think it will be nice when things slow down a bit !!!  However, that won't be for awhile as Sale-A-Bration will be kicking off January 1st. 

Oh my goodness stampers...I am really pleased with the goodies they have given us this year.  I am not allowed to post anything on here yet but will once we are able.  Now, for those of  you who don't know what Sale-A-Bration is...it's the time of the year when Stampin' Up gives us free stamp sets when we place a qualifying order.  Plus, if you hostess a qualifying workshop you receive an additional set FREE on top of your other hostess goodies.  AND...have you thought about becoming a demonstrator?  If you answered yes then it's a good time to join as you get to choose an additional set out of the big catalogue FREE.  I will mail out a SAB brochure soon to all stamp club members and anyone who hosted a workshop during this past year.  If you would like to be included on the mailing Click Here send me an e-mail and I'll add you to the list.

Now, on to the 12th, and final, day of Christmas.   

On the 12th day of Christmas I finally stamped, it wasn't hard, myyyyyy Christmas cards !!!  Yes, I know, I'm always running late :)   But at least they were sent :)
